Where you live decides what UTA lets you take
UTA can only run a program, and its clinicals, in states where it is authorized. For NP tracks and the DNP that is seven states. RN-to-BSN and the Education and Administration MSNs reach much further. Find your state.

The short version
UTA treats the mailing address in MyMav as your state. Before you move, take a travel contract or look for a preceptor across a state line, UTA asks you to email NursingSOA@uta.edu. The out-of-state clinicals page explains why that email matters.

Can I do UTA clinicals in a state where I don't live?
Only in a state where UTA is authorized for your program, only with a license valid there, and only after checking with UTA's state authorization team at NursingSOA@uta.edu. See out-of-state clinicals.
Does District of Columbia count for UTA's online programs?
UTA's map lists DC for RN-to-BSN and for the Education and Administration MSNs. It is not listed for the NP tracks or the DNP.
What happens if I move to a state UTA doesn't cover?
UTA's handbook warns that it can mean delayed or denied clinical placement, a requirement to complete clinicals in Texas or another approved state, or withdrawal. Talk to UTA before you move.
